Starting the New Year with Angelic Information
Dear Donald,
in his quest to locate “Jerrems People”. His probe into
Facebook appears below.
Ray’s sleuthing hat appears to the left.
We have included a few images of his findings. We tried
to brighten, crop and resize for best viewing with limited
success.
If you belong to Facebook, stop by Ray’s Place and leave him
a note.

Watching over Us
Hello.
Let me introduce myself. I am Angie and I have been appointed
the Guardian Angel for the Jerrems Family. My office is Up
There.
Your family is my first appointment as a GA. The Jerrems Family
account is a small one, so I will be able to give you
personalized service.
I have been making the rounds with your ancestors and received
some advice. The main comment goes like this: “Keep them
happy and healthy.” Actually some issues are beyond my
control. They are handled by Higher-ups.
According to my GA handbook, my mission statement is: “Don’t
let them do anything incredibly stupid.”
Here are some examples:
· Don’t let Don invest in any more penny stocks.
· Don’t let Warren run in any more ultra marathons.
· Don’t let Ray climb any more mountain ranges at his age.
· Don’t let _________ eat that second helping of ice cream.
One of my other objectives is to contain that pesky family
ghost, Old Ray. He is really hard to keep up with because he
is so wispy and unpredictable.
Lastly, some day when you are on the verge of a stupid decision,
you might feel a light tap on the shoulder. That will be me
doing my job.
Yours for a smart future,
Angie

Finding a Treasure Trove of Young Jerrems
Last year my daughter Anita McDonnell suggested that I
look at the well-known website Facebook.com to see if there were
any Jerrems people listed in it.
There was a complicated
procedure to get access to the photos on the website (at least
it was complicated for me) and I inadvertently enlisted myself.
I thought to myself afterwards that listing myself was probably
a good idea anyway, particularly because in due course I might
conceivably find some new Jerrems people I had not previously
located.
I discovered that about 12 Jerrems people had enlisted before
me. In fact I know who they all are but I did not have photos of
many of them.
To my surprise two weeks later I received an email from
Stephanie Jerrems in California asking me to contact her
(Stephanie is the daughter of one of our subscribers, Steven
Jerrems). Stephanie had seen some Jerrems Journals but when
she emailed me she obviously had not made the connection between
me and the Journal. I sent a brief email to her and received the
following reply:
“Is this the same Ray Jerrems who runs the Jerrems
newsletter? If it is, you talk to my dad Steve Jerrems out here
in California and there was an article in the newsletter about
my brother Nick Jerrems who sings for Cicada. Steph Jerrems”.
In a later email I asked Stephanie if she would like to
subscribe to the Journal and she replied excitedly that she had
been trying to find out for some time how to become a
subscriber.
We have since exchanged more emails.
Editors Note: Stephanie (picture from Facebook above) is our
newest subscriber. We have other photos which we will publish at
a later date.)

Scholarship is Our Favorite Word
Hello Friends and Family.
Yesterday when we brought in the mail, there were two letters
for Jacqueline from Florida State University in
Tallahassee, Florida. Not too long ago, she was notified by FSU
that she had been accepted and then shortly thereafter, she was
invited to be part of their honors program and live in the
honors dorm. The two letters yesterday informed her that she had
received two different scholarships, one for academic and the
other for just being a good person.
On January 30th, she is auditioning for the FSU dance program
and is thinking of a double major of dance and business. While
she hasn’t fully committed yet to attending FSU, her only other
option at this time is in Texas.
Honors program + scholarship + good dance program + close to
home = there is a good probability that we will have another FSU
Seminole on our hands in the very near future. Thought you might
want to know.

You Never Know
From time to time, we receive inquiries from someone who
stumbles across our name on the Internet. Usually they are doing
genealogy because a Jerrems appears in their family tree.
Recently we have heard from Sarah Papageorge from Upstate New
York. She wrote: “Sarah Cornelia (Jerrems) Breisch is my
ancestor. So far I haven’t found any information about her
parents Joseph and Sarah Jerrems. Sarah was born in Utica NY in
1856. ..”
We also heard from Sandra Walcyk Manlius, New York (45 miles
from Utica, NY). She wrote: “I began researching my great
grandmother, Anna S. Jerrems (birth name Susan Annah Jerrems.
She was born in Utica, N. Y. on March 6, 1859…”
Ray is corresponding with Sarah and Sandra to fill in some of
the gaps of the Jerrems family tree. Stay tuned.
